Musky Gear

We advise you to bring your own quality tackle. Rods, reels and lures are tools and everybody likes something a little different. We also have tackle available, if you don't have your own and would prefer to use ours. Musky Tom has hundreds of proven lures to choose from if you wish. The only rule is that if you lose it, you replace it.

  Medium-heavy to heavy weight rod 6 1/2' to 7' 6".

A good baitcasting reel loaded with good strong Musky line like Tuff Line or Spiderwire STEALTH in 80 to 100 pound test.

TWO DOZEN (24) of your best confidence baits, if you have them, a good assortment of Musky snacks like Top Raiders, Slam'er Creepers, Bobbie Baits, LowRiders, Reef Hawgs, Jakes, Jackpots, AP Lures, Weagles & Phantoms or hair in your Favorite colors and sizes.

Warm clothing is a must for Vermilion. Wear layers and adjust as the temperature changes.

A good pair of waterproof boots is a good idea too. Cold wet feet can spoil an otherwise great Musky adventure.

Rain gear is also a must.

  And so is sunblock.

Polarized sun glasses and a fishing cap will help you spot those Muskies following your baits… Deeper and Further behind!

  Camera with film.

Your favorite brand of insect repellent.

For full day trips, a small cooler with lunch and beverages.

A sense of humor, patience, love of the water, an open mind and nerves of steel.

We have personal flotation devices, but bring your own if you prefer.
